When I was little, my grandmother gave me her oil paints, media, and brushes and told me to paint whatever I wanted. I painted with oils for years until I became frustrated with the long drying time and stopped. I then switched over to acrylics and never looked back. The other day, however, I got an inkling to drag out my oils and have a look at them. I realized that most of them are high-quality paints from the 60s-80s, as well as some Bob Ross brand paints from the 90s. I decided to give them a go now that I know a bit more about painting than when I was little and first dabbling in the hobby. I don’t think I’ll ever paint another acrylic portrait again. I’m completely in love with oils. Here is my first ever serious oil painting.
